About Me

I am originally from Louisiana and I am an avid LSU fan. I grew up in Northern Louisiana in Bossier City but in 1985 I found myself in Baton Rouge wondering what’s next. Realizing I needed a change I packed up my car in May of that year and left. Shortly after crossing The Mississippi River I came to a crossroads and parked my car on the side of I-10 just west of Baton Rouge. I could take the next exit and head home to Bossier City where I would be safe with family. I would have a place to stay while I figured out what I wanted to do with my life.

Or I could continue on I-10 heading west until it ended in Southern California… I thought long and hard before I put the car back into drive but ultimately decided to stake a claim out West. After all, Go West Young Man was a phrase that kept reverberating in my mind….

Decades later I remain in Southern California. I’ve done a lot of interesting things, met a lot of interesting people and I’ve seen things others can only imagine. Now I’ve decided to keep a journal of my adventures and share them with anyone who might be interested. So enjoy… plan a trip… take the long way home… stop and look around…  Qwerk your routine and see what a difference taking a new path can make. Randy Heinitz.
